EcoTip #11! This includes Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) like paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, and pesticides! Check your local municipality’s department of public works to find out how to properly dispose of your waste!
This week’s ecotip is an easy one- carry reusable bags!! Not only does this trick reduce your waste, but it can save money at the market! More and more grocery stores will give you 5 cents for every reusable bag you bring- or they let you use those nickles to donate to a charity of your choice! I even know of a clothing store that does this!! If you’re like me, though, your shopping trips may not always be planned! I stash a pile of heavy duty totes in my trunk and also carry around a bag that is so compact it will fit on my keychain. Or, you can reuse the plastic bags you already have! This blog shows how to fold up old plastic bags into a manageable shape and size that can be thrown in your purse or wallet!
